Ragamuffintop Challenge – Week One

[special thanks to pete who submitted this banner at 3 am or something!!! You rock Pete] OK. Here it is. Time to bring it not sing it.
Simple to join.
1. You must have a measurable goal.
2. You must place a photo or video on your blog each weekend and give us the scoop on how you did.
3. You must link back here so that the readers of your blog get to see how the rest of us are failing or succeeding.
4. You fill out the linky thing below and then people can get to your blog from my front page and we can cheer each other on.
Got it?
Here was last weeks post.

Email me with any questions.
The following video explains it as well.

So this week you are to state your measurable goal on your blog.
Let us know what it is you want to accomplish and let’s see us get healthy TOGETHER!!!
Ready? Set? BLOG

Oh. And I need a banner for this. I suck at making those things.
Shake it.

  • It didn’t help that I went out for gelato today with my wife! Well, at least we rode the bikes over and back 🙂

  • Ok, I’ll do it.
I needed that last push to get motivated.
    Thanks for E-pushing me!

  • Let’s get this thing going! I’m psyched! Thanks Los!

  • Working on the video now…. 🙂

  • cripes! i’m a sucker for the personal touch!

  • No video, no picture. But I did a 5k Susan Komen breast cancer walk today. I am measuring. For me to go 3k was a good day, 5 darn near killed me.

  • Well, i posted. I didn’t realize this week is week two. I ate terrible, and excercised very little due. Found out my scale was 20some odd pounds too light 🙁 So i started an additional competition at work! Bring on the weight loss!!!

  • No pictures or video, but if I manage to make my goal, I’ll totally post a picture.

Thanks for keepin’ me real from across the country. Miss you bud.

  • I am doing my video and posting to my blog now – this will be awesome, and by awesome I mean so humiliating that I will actually make it! lol.

  • lost no weight this week. one pound, which is not a result of anything i did on purpose.

  • Carlos thanks for the reminder. I have posted some amazing pics of either a moon or my stomach you decide. Cannot wait to see how everyone else is coming along.

  • i’m in, my brothas and sisttas! 30 pounds, here we come!

  • now this is going to be a great mr. linky time…

  • Not sure about EVERY week…but I’ll give it a go. Unlike you, Los, I get kinda weirded out by sharing this stuff with people in the blogosphere. So…we’ll see. 🙂 I’m in, yes, but maybe not documenting as much as y’all.

  • I hate this already. It’s so much fun to eat.

You SO know how to use e-guilt. Good job. I’m on it. (but not liking it yet.) 🙂

  • I’m hoping this will motivate me to do what I need to do….even if it is starting with babysteps 🙂

  • Ok, I figured out the link thing. Easy. Video? I’ll learn as we go. Hang on everyone. Keep hands and feet inside the car at all times and enjoy the ride!!!!! Here we goooooooooo!

  • do you always weigh yourself with the scale on the carpet? that can really mess up what your actual total is. just sayin’.

  • Los

I did it both places. on the hardwood floor and the carpet. stayed the same.

  • I am in like flynn! 😀

  • I may join tomorrow. I have to think of something that I can measure. I have already lost 32 lbs and went from almost a 36 in waist to between a 30 & 32 depending on the make of jeans…a lot of people have told me to stop losing weight because I look more like a teenager than a man now, so…that rules those two things out. Thinking…

  • My goal for June, July & August: Run 300 miles, ike 1000 miles, & get my weight down to 160lbs. I’m tryng to get ready to run the Thanksgiving Day marathon in ATL. & It helps that I’m only about 7 miles to where I work so, I’m close enough to be able to bike to work.

    This week I:
    Ran – 24.6 miles
    Biked – 27.5 miles
    Current weight – 180

    This month I:
    Ran – 70 miles
    Biked – 54.95 miles
    Lost 4 lbs

    So far this year I’ve:
    Run – 231.4 miles
    Biked – 54.95 miles
    Lost 20 lbs

    Go Ragamuffin Tops Go!!!!!!!

  • Jay

Thanks for the follow-up. Thought I forgot, huh? I’m on my weigh! Okay, I’m sorry. I couldn’t resist.

  • Jen

I’ve lost 35 pounds but taken a month off. It’s time to get that last 35 off!

  • Ok I have posted. I am trying to find a way to get picks or video but I have neither to really use for that so I may not have pics for now. My goal is 20 lbs in the next two months and beat my friend in our little competition. Although I hope to lose more than 20 lbs. I am walking/running 4 miles 3 times a week which is a big improvement and playing soccer 1 to 2 times a week. Hope the weight just comes off. I have been eating healthy it helps that I don’t eat meat (well I eat seafood). Thanks for the reminder.

  • I’ve now officially used about 1.5 hours of my packing time to make a video, read about all the people doing this challenge, and try to put my post on my blog. It’s waiting on a couple things … to be posted asap.

Anyway, I’m in … it’ll be your fault when I go to leave for Jakarta next week and am not ready!!! 🙂

  • Thanks for the inspiration!! This is my first blog carnival linky. Love your videos!

  • I’ve been posting a weekly blog weight loss for 2 months now called ‘The Chubby Little Hunchback Report’. I need all the incentive I can get so I’m in!!!

  • Do you know that losing wait doesnt help and you will become heavier in the end if you dont change your entire lifestyle… that is a fact (psychology)

  • Ok, here I go. Jay, I figured I would join you here. God, I am going to need all the help I can get.

  • I’m in. Need to drop 30 by Labor Day. Thanks Los for this cool opportunity.

  • ok, 10lbs, that’s what I want to lose by July. I am going to do some floor exercizes, eat less bad things and pray my 40 yr old matabolism responds.

I wont be posting a video, just pics.

  • I’ve had a weight-loss challenge going on for two months over on my blog. Glad to join a few more people over here to help hold me accountable!

  • I gained weight this week! But like you said, I think it’s all muscle… uh… yeah… that’s it, muscle!

Is that like the icing on top of the muffin top?

  • debbie d.

there’s no blog for me…hopefully you won’t kick me to the curb because of it…my goal: 86lbs by May ’09…I’d like to start my 43rd year as the healthy thing I once was…I am upping walking my dogs and trying to add more vegetables to my diet…my love affair with Coca-Cola will continue 🙂

  • TD

  • Just closed on our first house and am in the middle of a crazy transition, but rest assured that I’m with you bro. Consider me a week behind.

I must admit that I was a bit skeptical of the “great community” that we talked about at Bahama Breeze, but your commitment to accountability in this place is awesome. You rock, brother!

  • Dav

I’m a little late to enter, but I’m in. 10 pounds in 10 weeks.

  • I am just now joining in but ready to go! Thanks for this great idea – best wishes to all!
