RagamuffinTop Challenge // 10

Ragamuffintop

OK. Here it is. Time to bring it not sing it.
Simple to join.
1. You must have a measurable goal.
2. You must place a photo or video on your blog each weekend and give us the scoop on how you did.
3. You must link back here so that the readers of your blog get to see how the rest of us are failing or succeeding.
4. You fill out the linky thing below and then people can get to your blog from my front page and we can cheer each other on.
Got it?

Let’s keep this short and sweet.
Heather and I ran 15 miles today.
My knees are being iced as I type.
This is the ZOOM video. Seanna zoomed it in and I didn’t zoom out.
Welcome to my nostrils.

So there you have it. I am half way done with my training. Who would have thought 10 weeks ago sitting on my sofa when I crapped out a statement like…
“I think I’ll run a marathon”, that I would have finished 15 miles today!?!

I also used gel shots for the first time today and they DEFINITELY helped!!!

Your turn!!!

Lose it.

  • 15 MILES!!! Yahoo!!! Yeah, go for the marathon! I think I’d increase my goal from 3 miles to 3.5 – hmmm….

Thanks for this Challenge. Keeps me going when I feel like I don’t want to run…

    🙂 Liza

  • Hey, at least there aren’t branches growin out your nose :-). Way to go on the 15. Had my first set back this week…let’s hope there aren’t many of those!!

    Hey Los,

Great job to both you and Heather! 15 miles is great. I’m not taking part in Ragamuffin Top but wanted to encourage all of you. Two things I wanted to throw in… Cliff is great (natural and organic) GU brand gels are really good as well. Shoes, can’t get more important then that man. Nike is fun and they have great gimmicks, but do yourself a favor, check out Brooks and Saucony, both better for running. Again, great job and keep it up!

  • That is awesome! Great job!

I am kind of doing something similar called “Fat Ass” diet. I do have a picture of my progress: http://scagliablog.typepad.com/scaglia_family_blog/2008/06/fat-ass.html

    Keep up the great posts!

  • Dude, that’s awesome. Two questions:
    1. How do you and Heather go running together w/ 3 kids? Baby sitter?
    2. And have you checked out http://www.mapmyrun.com ? It’s more than awesome. You’ll like it as a runner.

  • I’m sorry that things are moving slowly as far as the actual weight is coming off… I’m in the same boat and getting frustrated as well, but if I were completely honest (which you know I am) I’m just not eating right still… so how’s that going for you? I really wish some people would make some great menu suggestions…

  • 15 miles. man oh man. that’s AMAZING.

I hate running. I don’t sweat like normal people so I end up overheating and pretty much dying. so I applaud you and heather’s running prowess!

  • Well done with the run!! I am jealous…but I hit my goal this past Monday….couch potato to 5km since February…I’m pleased with that! As far as weightloss…I hear you on that one…check this guy out… if you’re a GTD-er you probably already know about this guy…Tim Ferris

  • not on twitter…yet hehehe

Hey…does any one know what to do for sore calves? Mine are killing me after my run today 🙁

  • I think Losiah just called you a “geek rummy.” He is so cute I can hardly stand it. Keep up the good work with your running. I admire your tenacity.

  • Great thoughts and Blog. Thanks.

  • what’s funny is that my hubby and i worked for powerbar at the coeur d’alene ironman last month and they gave us tons of free powerbar product..like those gels and gel blast/blocks…they are so disgusting! if you want ’em, they’re all yours!
    oh yeah, btw..good job guys..

  • Down this week. Phew. If I could just maintain momentum. Get caught up in late night food. Should just go to sleep. Great job on 15. I just don’t understand.

  • Okay I know I am late on this, but I was out of town. So, I ended the first challenge with my friend as a winner. I lost a total of 20 pounds in 2 months. I am so excited about that. I am entering into a new challenge with him which I talk about on my blog. I love the challenges here and with my friend they really fuel my workouts. Thanks Los and everyone else for all the encouragement.
