This is taken form the blog post Mark Driscoll put up in response to the football bat Ted swung…

Most pastors I know do not have satisfying, free, sexual conversations and liberties with their wives. At the risk of being even more widely despised than I currently am, I will lean over the plate and take one for the team on this. It is not uncommon to meet pastors’ wives who really let themselves go; they sometimes feel that because their husband is a pastor, he is therefore trapped into fidelity, which gives them cause for laziness. A wife who lets herself go and is not sexually available to her husband in the ways that the Song of Songs is so frank about is not responsible for her husband’s sin, but she may not be helping him either.

Now this is ONE paragraph taken from an EXTREMELY long essay. It was a good essay. A bit of a stretch in parts. But good. But Mark. Let’s see me and you take off our shirts bro. I’m sure we are not God’s gift to our wives either.
I’m going to lean over the plate and take one for the “other” team on this. It’s not uncommon to meet PASTORS who really let themselves go. They get taken out to eat so much they don’t know when to say no. So when their wives speak up at them they get pissed and go look at porn so that they have some figment of imagination looking at them through a computer screen telling them how a round belly makes them look hot.

I don’t know what churches Driscoll is talking about, but around So Cal, the pastors wives are the hot ones with a couple dimes tucked up in their shirts. I think us “Pastors” have a lot bigger purity issues to tackle besides fat wives. Like maybe, GETTING REAL WITH OURSELVES, OTHERS, AND GOD.

Pray for New Life Church, Ted Haggard, and his family.
Thats my nickle.
