So we have lots of great photographers here in the artistic community of Sandals church. They each have their own thing that they excel in. They do everything well, but have a niche. Just like musicians.
These are just my observations.
Daniel, who shot my banner image, will shoot the clearest, pictures you have ever seen.
Weybright, who is shooting an image for my office, Is really good at just that. Seeing beyond the image in front of the lens.
Leah, who plays keys in the band, is the queen of soft portrait. Her photoshop skills are mad.
Kris, has an artsy vibe with all his pics. They are fun.
Daley, well I will call him the most under-schooled of the bunch, and gets the most out of the least amount of gear.
I’ve bragged on Daniel before so let me brag on Daley.
Sometimes it is not about the raddest new lens, camera, or program. It is about the vibe.
I spent a bit with Daley this morning and he pulled out his 5 dollar camera (well not that inexpensive), and shot some really cool stuff. So. I realized in that hour or so with Daley that it is not about the gear. It is about the eye. Gear helps. But put a Les Paul in my hands and see how horrible I can make that thing sound. He sees things differently. So. I made him see me through his lens. He made me give the Blue Steel all day. It was a horribly fun time.
Daley, keep shooting.
People, if you want a lens for hire and need that “Daley Look”, he’s cheap.
Hire him.
Click them. My head eyes get bigger.
Yea. I’ve got no shame in my game.
