(Even the LA on my hat is backwards because of what I have done…)

You know the feeling.
It’s the morning after.
You made a horrible mistake.
You wish you could take it back.
But you can’t.
What’s done has been done and you have to now live with the consequences of your decision.
The decision to be unprepared in the moment of compulsive desire to do something you weren’t prepared to do in the first place.
This is what today is for me.
Yesterday, in spite of my best intention, I screwed up.
And to be honest, I did it 3 times.
The goal was this…
“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived — the things God has prepared for those who love him” 1 Corinthians 2:9
Service number one this came out of my mouth…
“No eye has seen, No ear has heard, no mind has conceived, the things God has prepared for those who love him–” SECOND Corinthians 2:9.
Not a bad attempt. But wrong book.
Service number two I said this…
“No eye has seen, No ear has heard, no HEART has FELT, the things God has for them” DIDNT SAY THE REFERENCE CAUSE I KNOW I BOTCHED IT UP SO BAD.
It was getting worse.
Third service I left it out all together cause I knew I would commit blasphemy if I tried.

Fourth service I tried again…
“No eye has seen, No ear has heard, no HEART has conceived, the things God has prepared for those who CHASE after him–” SECOND Corinthians 2:9.
What the crap is up with HEART? And now 600 people are thinking you have to CHASE God? And Carlos. For the love of all things Holy, FIRST Corinthians.
So today I wake up with one practical piece of advice for myself and every other worship leader on the planet…
If the pastor READS the scripture during his message, the dear God we should READ the scripture as well instead of making up new ones…

What was the funniest or most harrowing thing to happen to you at church yesterday?
